Hydro’s brand of laboratory polishers called Picosystems® have endured time. Purity begins with quality materials such as activated carbon and premium DI resins regenerated under proprietary protocols with complete QC/QA. These resins deliver higher purity water more consistently and are a green product since they are recovered, regenerated and reused. The Picosystem® is Hydro’s basic point-of-use (POU) water purification system that produces ASTM and CAP Type 1 Reagent Grade Water for basic analytical laboratory applications. The Picosystem® is also the chassis for eight additional POU systems that produce varying higher qualities for more critical applications. The system components include one organic adsorber containing highly activated carbon media for chlorine/chloramine removal and TOC reduction, one primary and one polishing mixed-bed deionizer containing pharma-grade cation/anion resins, a service indicator light and polyethylene interconnecting tubing. Hydro manufactures a selection of Picotap® faucets made of UHMW virgin polypropylene and polyethylene to complement the Picosystem’s® quality.
The Picosystem® UV Plus combines 185 nm UV (ultraviolet) technology in the UV Plus Pump Station with the quality performance of Hydro’s basic point-of-use (POU) water purification system to produce low TOC, ASTM and CAP Type 1 Reagent Grade Water for analytical laboratory applications requiring <5 ppb TOC. The Picosystem® components include one organic adsorber containing highly activated carbon media for chlorine/chloramine removal and TOC reduction, one primary and one polishing mixed-bed deionizer containing pharma-grade cation/anion resins, a service indicator light and polyethylene interconnecting tubing. Recirculation allows for the addition of a resistivity monitor if desired. Hydro manufactures a selection of Picotap® faucets made of UHMW virgin polypropylene and polyethylene to complement the Picosystem’s® quality.
The Picopure® UV Plus combines 254 nm UV (ultraviolet) technology and ultrafiltration in the faucet, 185 nm UV in the system recirculation and the quality performance of the Picosystem® to produce sterile, depyrogenated, low TOC, ASTM and CAP Type I Reagent Grade Water for critical laboratory applications. Ultrapure water is dispensed from the electropolished stainless steel spout connected directly to the UV chamber. The chassis for all Hydro point-of-use (POU) systems is the Picosystem®, which contains a highly activated carbon media for chlorine/chloramine removal and TOC reduction, and quality pharma-grade mixed-bed resins for deionization. “Plus” means the system is recirculated. Recirculation and the 185 nm UV lowers TOC’s to <5 ppb and allows a choice between the Picopure® 2 faucet or the optional Picopure® 3 faucet with resistivity monitor.
The PICO Water System (AWS) was originally developed to complement clinical diagnostic equipment that required a minimal feed of CAP Type I water. These units are portable and completely self-contained in a powder-coated cabinet that includes pretreatment filters, RO, storage tank, pharma-grade mixed-bed deionizers, recirculation pump, ultraviolet sterilizer and 0.2 micron post filter (optional). With three models available (AWS 100, 200 and 300), hourly production rates range from 10 to 100 LPH and the water produced meets or exceeds CAP and ASTM Type I quality. The AWS 100 can also be used as a bench top system. These units are visible in hospitals and clinics across the country, but serve many other applications as well. The AWS systems are Hydro OEM products made in the USA.
